Koksijde World Cup and Jingle Cross Rock

Split squad this weekend, with big racing on both sides of the pond once again. Over in Europe we had Jeremy Powers and Zach McDonald at World Cup #3 in Koksijde, BEL at what is possibly the sandiest race we’ve ever seen. Located on the northern coast of West Flanders, the town of Koksijde is actually built into the side of a sand dune… which explains the sand.

Jeremy rode strong for 32nd and Zach held it down for 17th in the U23 race (Round 2 of the U23 UCI World Cup), but it was not easy, “I’m not going to say that I can’t wait to do that again,” was heard more than once.

Stateside, Chris Jones and Julie Krasniak were in Iowa City, Iowa; tearing it up at 3 days of UCI races that played out like:
- Day 1: Chris 2nd, Julie 8th
- Day 2: Chris 2nd, Julie 6th
- Day 3: Chris 5th, Julie 3rd
