Latest UCI World Rankings have Jeremy Powers 11th in the world and the top rider from the United States! Ryan Trebon and Tim Johnson are the 2nd and 3rd in the US placing 17th and 24th in the world respectively.
Some good racing this weekend as UCI racing returns to Southern California. Chris gets 3rd place twice, Julie goes 3rd and 4th, and Zach gets 8th and 9th. Excellent writeup of the weekend over on the Rapha Blog.
Next weekend we’ve got all hands on deck again for the USGP of Cyclocross finals in Bend, OR!
Split squad this weekend, with big racing on both sides of the pond once again. Over in Europe we had Jeremy Powers and Zach McDonald at World Cup #3 in Koksijde, BEL at what is possibly the sandiest race we’ve ever seen. Located on the northern coast of West Flanders, the town of Koksijde is actually built into the side of a sand dune… which explains the sand.
Jeremy rode strong for 32nd and Zach held it down for 17th in the U23 race (Round 2 of the U23 UCI World Cup), but it was not easy, “I’m not going to say that I can’t wait to do that again,” was heard more than once.
