New England World Championships is what people call the two days at the Gran Prix of Gloucester, at Stage Fort Park in historic Gloucester, MA.

Day 1 saw some fast racing with an elite group forming early including hole shot winnner, Mike Garrigan, with Tim Johnson, Ian Field, Barry Wicks, Jeremy Powers, Jamey Driscoll, Zach McDonald, and Christian Heule. Field would go on to animate the race until about two laps to go when Jeremy and Heule were able to get away. Jeremy would ultimately lead onto the paved finish and the Swiss Champion came around at the line. Zach came across the line not long after in 8th, 1st U23, and take the lead in the New England Pro Cyclocross Series.

Day 2 the guys both one-upped themselves from the day before. From the gun, Tim Johnson took off and got an immediate gap. A gap that he held on to until 2 laps to go when Jeremy was able to bridge across from a loosely organized chase and then in the next lap, put that gap right back into Tim to come across the finish line solo. Zach also was able to do one better from his race the day before, coming across the line in 7th place and once again the 1st U23 racer.

Jeremy and Zach are currently leading the Elite Men’s and U23 categories of the New England Pro Cyclocross Series.
