We dug deep in the archives and found it, just in time for the Cyclocross National Championships; photo evidence from one of the first cyclocross races Chris ever participated in, showing fine form with the seldom-used (for good reason) technique of the “Surf Board Carry” over the barriers. In his first ever weekend of cyclocross, Chris showed his potential and finished 44th on Saturday and 30th on Sunday in the elite races in Gloucester, MA (Ryan Trebon won both days on the North Shore that year). Chris has come a long way in the past four years and (as of the latest UCI rankings) is rolling into Nationals 25th in the world, and 6th in the United States; meaning a front row start at Nationals. Zach currently sits 81st in the world, and 20th in the United States.
Speaking of Zach and throwbacks, check out what cyclingdirt.org deemed the Best Lap of 2009 Cyclocross Championships. Look for a rematch of the collegiate race on Sunday morning, with live coverage from cyclingdirt.org!
